I have other Briggs and Riley luggage; this appears to be the same high quality. I cannot say the same for Amazon's shipping technique: it was flattened and forced into a small plastic bag, resulting in badly wrinkled canvas and some loss of structure. Should have been boxed for shipment. While chatting on a flight with a fellow road warrior, we started talking luggage. I end up buying at least one piece a year due to wear and tear with my frequent travel, and even under warranty I found it difficult to find a place to repair, and most fell under the excluded part of the warranty. She has had the same roller wardrobe for 20 years with the warranty, if anything goes wrong they will fix or replace, you only pay for shipping costs. She was right, with the placement of the handle it opens up the interior for packing. I purchased this line because of the built in compression. You extend it for packing, then push down to push out air and return to normal size. The spinners roll almost too well...when on a slant, you need to mind it or it will roll away without you. There are pockets for staying organized and keeping smaller items accessible. With the wardrobe section, I am also able to travel with outfits that used to be reserved for local travel because my rolling and packing cubes helped reduce wrinkles, but not prevent them for all fabrics. That is not a challlenge with the hanging section, I do use my flat hangers to successfully secure them. I purchased this set so I could use one or the other depending the length of the trip. I purchased two matching pieces for carry on. The large one of this set is actually a medium. I researched the larger case, and I agree with the reviews, I can’t see needing the larger case on most trips. Also, because of the capacity and compression I have come very close to the 50 pound limit for domestic checked bags. (I sometimes need to travel with my portable dolly, it isn’t just clothes.) It is a breeze traveling with 3 pieces that latch together easily, and I have had two trips where I took only the smaller pieces. I considered hard luggage, but I am glad I went with these instead. They appear durable, and have yet...after 8 flights, shown any wear or stains. My last Samsonite piece was red and wore the marks of the conveyor belts within one trip. I now notice fellow travelers with this brand of luggage, and more than one have swore they have had it for 20 years and is still in great shape. The price did give me pause, until I added up how many annual purchases I have made in the past 22 years of work travel and I often struggled securing different pieces together between baggage claim and car rental...and I decided it was worth it.I took this bag along with the Briggs & Riley carryon suitcase (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053RF69A/ref=oh_details_o06_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to Europe for two weeks and I have to say this is an excellent bag that holds A LOT of stuff but still fits under the seat.I mostly travel domestically, and I am not used to traveling without checking a big suitcase. Since my husband is a retired airline pilot and we were traveling standby to Europe, he informed me that we would be using carryon luggage only to make sure that our luggage didn't get hung up somewhere. Since two carry-ons are all that are allowed and I needed to also bring a purse, I was able to fit my sizable purse inside this tote bag. I loaded the B&R down with everything I needed for my trip other than clothes which went in the suitcase, and the two bags worked out perfectly. This is an extremely high quality bag with rugged fabric and smoothly operating zippers. The magnetic grab handles perform perfectly and there is no fidgeting to get them to into position. The option to place the bag over a rolling suitcase handle makes trucking through the airport/hotel a breeze, and it's quick to get the un-zippable optional suitcase flap over the handle and off of the handle, which comes in handy when you're in a rush to get seated or depart the plane. The outside pockets makes it easy to access important documents/items while it is sitting atop the suitcase. The attached key chain holder comes in handy too. I used it for suitcase lock keys. A couple of times I did carry the bag by the cross strap which was very comfortable on my shoulder and held the bag in position slightly in front of the body so that the bag didn't hang up on seated passengers. Whoever designed this bag knew what they were doing, because it is very well thought out and easy to keep track of where you put things, and it's really easy to get organized since there are so many different compartments. You will love this bag and my guess is that it will be last one of it's kind you'll ever have to buy. Well worth the money for a bag that makes traveling a breeze. I think the price is very reasonable for such a high quality, useful tool. The bag would make an incredible gift as well as a great diaper bag!One could easily make due with this bag alone for a weekend getaway. Clothes could fit in the big square compartment, with toiletries and such stowed in the pockets. This Briggs and Riley Cabin Duffle is one of the most practical carry-ons I've yet tried.Measuring 27 x 29 x 42 cm, this has 31-litres of capacity - perfect for an overnight stay, or for coping with everything a family needs on a vacation flight. With tons of useful-sized pockets - slim ones at either end for media or devices, a wide-opening side flap for nick-necks and other smaller ones for documents and essentials - it is a very practical piece of luggage. As usual from Briggs & Riley, it comes with a full lifetime warranty that will cover any damage no matter how caused, and the material used is extremely hard-wearing and stain-resistant nylon. It includes BR&Rs standard scannable ID tab, plus some very clever features to make one's life easier on the go - magnetic handle clasp, rotating shoulder strap, magnetic and zipped strap for attaching to wheeled bags and so on. It is also carefully sized so that it will go under economy seating if required.Negatives? Very few to be honest. I would probably like an additional pocket inside the main compartment if really pushed, but otherwise the Cabin Duffle is remarkably complete in terms of features, function and fit. Very highly recommended! This is a great companion piece to your wheeled luggage. Bag is well made, however it’s width is wider than most airlines will usually accept for cabin. Also will not fit airline bag sizers I’m familiar with due width doesn’t havmuch compressionRugged travel bag. Little smaller than I expected. Still does the job for overnight to 2 day road trips. The measurements in inches were correct however metric measurements were incorrect. However the bag is well constructed. Happy with the quality, just annoyed about the size.
