This is a small, handy flashlight. It has a sturdy, well-built metal housing and the LED light is very bright and uses the Cree XHP70 chip. The light intensity mentioned in the product description seems reasonable as according to the Cree website, this chip has a max intensity rating of just over 4000 lumens under standardized conditions. The flashlight also carries an IPX5 rating, which is really water-resistant, no water-proof. The power switch/mode selection is easy to find and operate (it is not recessed as it is on so many flashlights, so I am fumbling around for it in the dark). The light beam cycles through five modes -- bright, medium, low, rapid strobe and slow strobe. I like that I can turn the flashlight off with a single long press instead of going through all of the modes. The head extends and the beam can widened for use as a flood light or narrowed for use as a spot light. There are four tiny blue dots so I know what the battery reserve is and won't get caught with a dead battery. The flashlight operates on a single rechargeable battery with a 5000 mAh capacity. It can also be used with three smaller AA batteries in the compartment provided. The charging port and power bank are located opposite the power button and are easy to access, although the rubber cover is attached by a rather thin strap. The flashlight, extra battery compartment and USB cable are packed in a small plastic case that I didn't realize was included. I was initially pretty happy to have it, but as it turns out, it is very flimsy, and a small piece was already broken at one of the corners, leaving a hole, and one of the tabs that hold the case closed was also already broken when the flashlight arrived. The current price of $33.99 might seem a bit high, but it is a well-made, compact, heavy-duty flashlight and except for the claim of being waterproof (it is actually resistant to a multidirectional low pressure stream of water) it is well represented. I'm quite pleased with it.This is a pretty decent flashlight for the price, but the included case is pretty much trash. It arrived broken in several pieces. Even if it has not been broken, the hinges and latches are pretty much guaranteed to fall off in short order. It's all very thin, very low quality plastic. The light itself works well though! Feels pretty solid and works well. I like that it always powers up in the brightest mode. After that, you can keep clicking to run through all the modes and eventually back to off, or just press and hold the button in any mode to power off. Regardless of what mode you power off in, it always powers up in brightest mode. The included accessories for powering it from a single 18650 cell or 3AAA cells would be nice to have in a pinch. All my old lights use 18650s and I have several. That said, I love that you can charge the included 5000mAh cell right in this light with a micro USB cable. The ability to charge a phone or other device from this light using it's internal battery is a nice feature too!Included is an image comparing this light to my trusty Ultrafire 502B, both zoomed out and all the way in.
