I got this tripod because it is carbon fiber and because it has twist locks on the legs. I love my old Manfrotto XProB, but the lever locks have gotten too difficult for my damaged fingers. The twist locks of the Weyllan have been much easier to use.The two tripods weigh the same when the ball heads are on, according to my bathroom scale when I stand on the scale and pick up each in turn. The Weyllan is carbon fiber while the Manfrotto is aluminum, but the Manfrotto's legs are much more slender, so there isn't any difference in weight. Both with the ball heads attached, are ~ 2 lbs.The Weyllan ball head is easy to adjust with its wide lock. I use the Arca plate portion when I'm mounting a camera to it. I use its accompanying plate to get my Canon speedlight on it when I'm using off-camera flash.I like how it folds on itself so that I can strap it to my camera bag. I also like that I can unscrew one leg to use as a walking staff or monopod. I rubber band a snack baggie over the end to keep debris from getting into the leg and messing up the threads.Thanks to an additional photo sent by the manufacturer/seller, I was able to figure out how to get the ball head off the center column and onto the tripod without the column. The photos that came with the manual didn't quite show the process.When the ball head is on the center column, that column can easily be turned upside down, to get the camera extremely low.And one last positive about this tripod—if I'm kneeling on the ground, it's sturdy enough for me to use to help myself stand. All the years of skiing and motorcycles have taken a toll.
