I have quite a few acebeam lights and something I don’t like about any of them is that they don’t have a mechanical lock, meaning when the battery is low they can unlock themselves and can be accidentally turned on. Other than that the quality in all of their lights has always impressed me, which is why I keep buying acebeam. The plan for this light was to be an easy to carry emergency main light for when i get caught up in the hills at night and want to easily spot the wild animals on the way out. When this light works, it works great but ever since I got it, it would randomly shut off on me, which is very uncomfortable when I’m in the middle of the hills looking out for animals. I thought the light had a faulty heat sensor but as the problem became worse I started wondering if it’s a faulty battery. Problem is the battery it uses is customized specifically for this light and I can’t just stick a different 18650 battery to test the light because the light won’t accept them. I’m still debating on taking a risk and purchasing another battery for it or not. Like i said, when it works it works well and it would be perfect for me if it was reliable. Unfortunately it was never reliable, and became my back up and unreliable emergency light when I first started using it instead of my main and reliable emergency light I purchased it to be. Unfortunately the problem quickly became worse and I feel less safe carrying it with me than leaving it at home. Emergency lights need to be reliable and I often get caught up in the hills at night longer than I plan.
