Description

What if you only needed one sleeping bag for every season? A sleeping bag that was rated from +60°F down to -10°F depending on how you arranged it. The Polara 3-in-1 has five one-person configurations and two double-wide. Simply add or remove layers to obtain your desired temperature rating. The no-snag zippers make changing out layers easy. Outer bag features include: Thermal enhancing, double-layer construction with offset stitching that works with the adjustable shoulder draft tubes and full-length zipper draft tubes to eliminate cold spots. The inner bag is made of PolarLite fleece that is anti-pilling and extra soft for maximum comfort. Use this bag in any of the following arrangements for your desired temperature rating: *Sleep in the inner bag for +60°F/+16°C *Sleep in the outer bag for +30°F/-1°C *Sleep on top of the inner bag for one layer above and three below for +20°F/-7°C *Sleep inside both bags for two layers above and two below for 0°F/-18°C *Use a sleeping pad and sleep under the inner bag for three layers above and one below for -10°F/-23°C For double-wide arrangements, unzip the bags separate of each other and open them fully. Zip the inner bag to the outer bag in a double-wide configuration: *Couples can sleep under the inner bag for +50°F/+10°C *or the outer bag for +45°F/+7°C Like all TETON Sports sleeping bags. Zipper baffle on both inner and outer bag to reduce heat loss, Shoulder baffle with drawstring and barrel-lock on inner bag.

We're rather new to the camping experience, though I'd been warm weather camping previously, now that I have a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout in the family we're taking on new adventures in colder weather camping. Since I'm of the more frigid variety and find myself shivering in my house when the temperature is set to 70 degrees, I figured I had better find us some cold weather sleeping bags. I did a ton of research and looked through so many different websites. I finally found the Teton sleeping bags as I was trying not to have to take out a small loan or sell my last born child to afford decent 0 degree sleeping bags. I knew that we had a camp out in October which could be cold and after a ton of research, I decided to take the chance of getting two of these Teton Sports Bags with the zipped in fleece. I'm so glad I did. My youngest child ended up stealing my Teton sleeping bag in the middle of the night. She was comfy and cozy like a little sleeping bag thief and slept great. I, on the other hand, was curled up and freezing on the floor of the tent while my son hogged the single air mattress on the other side of the tent. The blankets I had just weren't cutting the cold and I had pretty much figured I would just lay awake shivering all night but telling myself it was okay (it wasn't. It was cold, man, really cold!) because at least the kids were warm. I finally realized that because this sleeping bag, laid open, was so large that my son on the air mattress actually was covered with half of the sleeping bag while the other half draped to the floor of the tent that it was possible that I could in under there. I'm not too proud to say that I squished myself as close to the side of that air mattress as possible so I could huddle under the dangling Teton. And it was absolutely amazing, the difference in temperature, immediately. I was warm! Toasty, no more shivering, completely comfortable, warm. I fell asleep and slept the rest of the night. These have to be some of the warmest, best sleeping bags I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of sleeping bags. I'm actually planning on purchasing one or two more in the upcoming year because I love them so much. Now my only gripe, and it's really a small one, is that there's no way that I'm ever getting these bags back into that little compression sack. It's just not happening and I don't have that kind of time or effort. Instead of fighting the compression sack and losing miserably to it, I just ended up going out and buying some bungee straps. I wrap two straps around the sleeping bag, hook together and done. It makes it easy to carry them around and I can store them when we aren't using them. Maybe other people will have better luck with the compression sacks but I know my limitations. I don't have the patience level for that. I don't want to spend 30 minutes trying to Jenga my sleeping bag back into a bag. I wish it had ties on it like every other sleeping bag I've owned. Some nice, stretchy ties on the end would have been a welcome addition, even if they would be removable for those that want to use the compression sack. It would have been nice to have the choice of compression sack or elastic ties attached. But even without the ties, this is a nice and heavy sleeping bag which will keep you warm in the cold weather. I sincerely love these bags. I never tried to zip two of them together but I researched and apparently it is possible. I didn't have the need to do that yet but we probably will in the future if needed and it's nice to know that it's possible to do with these bags. So if you're looking for a tent camping sleeping bag that will keep you warm, this is your bag. If you're looking for one to carry hiking, maybe not so much as it's pretty heavy and bulky, though it would keep you warm if you could figure out how to transport it with you.
