I don't think I'll be directing traffic with this cone adapter, but I do use it often for illuminating close up areas. I'm using it on a 4D Mag-Lite, it defuses the light enough to provide a good even work light. The fit is firm and I don't have any fear the cone will work loose yet it slips off easy enough if needed.I bought this to go on my Fenix TK-35, not the Maglite for which it was designed. Therefore any fitment issues aren't the fault of this diffuser wand. See 'other thoughts' about that. This traffic wand is tough and well-made, and should work fine for anyone who still uses a Maglite.Pros:* Tough, durable plastic* No significant variation in the diffusion properties of the plastic, e.g. seams or concentrated 'dark' areas* Consistent shape, color and so onCons:* Has a hole at the top. Perhaps someone who uses one of these for its intended purpose can enlighten me why not diffusing 100% of the light through the wand is desirable. I find it a waste of light (keeping in mind the purpose is to diffuse), and thus taped several layers of HDPE produce baggie over the hole to diffuse. I would think if one wanted direct light, you'd just pop off the diffuser and use the flashlight that way.Other thoughts:Fitment on the head of a Fenix TK-35 is close enough that two layers of the fuzzy side of hook and loop tape provides a snug but not difficult-to-use fit. Disappointingly, though Fenix makes very good flashlights, they fail to capitalize on the accessory market. Maglite to the rescue (in terms of accessories).I purchased one of these as recommended by my traffic direction instructor with the police department. It works great for parking lots and small streets, but I would not recommend using one of these on a main road! Drivers do not notice these as much as pointing the flashlight at their hood, just down so that they aren't blinded by it, making it slightly more suited to smaller applications. For security, events, and as a bit of backup gear for smaller jobs, this thing is great though! It's made of durable plastic. I've had this thing in 110 degree heat in the summer, and freezing cold rain in the winter for hours on my Maglite, and it hasn't had much of a problem. You should know that this can easily slip off, especially in rain, so don't flail it around! Other than that, this is a pretty decent accessory that anyone working in light to medium traffic applications should consider.I purchased a newer ML25LT not realizing the head of the new model is much smaller than the old ones. The old ones have a head the same size as the D cell, not true anymore. Most of the accessories do not fit the ML25LT. So, if you purchased that model just be aware...Otherwise I am sure these are an excellent product, I have no other complaints.Update: Mag-Lite now lists a correct cone in each color, yellow is: SKU 118-000-238I'm sure they would be great if I could attach it to the RAYOVAC D cell battery flashlight I bought to use it on. I found that the base of the cone is the same size as the circumference of the flashlight head. It's frustrating since I purchased the eight wands (6 red & 2 yellow) to redirect traffic due to construction for a large event.I think these are a great idea but it would be helpful to know what type or brand of D cell flashlights the work with.I want to revise my original review. The traffic cones did fit the D cell flashlights I bought after all. I didn't have the strength to put them on. I had to asked one of the male staff members whose bigger and stronger to see if he could attach it. After a few minutes he did.Once attached the wands met all my expectations. I would definitely purchase again. As a volunteer firefighter, I NEED this when working traffic accidents at night. It fits my Mag-lite and helps me to be seen when trying to control traffic around accidents. Distracted drivers are the #1 hazard to those of us trying to keep bad situations from getting worse (cops and FFs). I keep it in a seatback pocket in my vehicle at all times. WOULD BUY AGAIN! Probably as important as my traffic vest-I recommend it to all first responders! These cones are perfect mated with flashlights for directing traffic and assisting drivers in backing up especially with trailers. The tubes are faceted to prevent the flashlight from rolling around. A simple gadget that can help prevent driving collisions and/or help the flow of traffic. It does what its supposed to, and it fits nice and snug. I simply cannot imagine this thing falling off or not staying on, as some reviews (for other colors of the wand here on Amazon) suggest. One small disappointment - with LED Mags a weak halo/ring comes out of the open end of the cone, not a usable spot beam (yes I tried adjusting the beam). I tried this with multiple Mag 3D LED and 4D LED lights all with identical results. Out of curiosity I tried it with a non-LED Mag, and as I suspected I was able to get a good usable beam out of the open end. I suspect these were designed pre-LED era. Not a big deal, I got this to go with a 3D LED I keep in the trunk in case of emergency and it will work fine.Bought this to pop on my mag lite in case of a break down in my car. What a simple but brilliant idea, they are!I have a new led D cell lamp with the strobe feature. Popping this on the top turns it into an amazing warning beacon. While I’m hoping never to break down in the dark, if I do, I can pop the mag lite on the roof while I’m waiting for help....you can see it quite some distance away.Well worth £5.Worked perfectly when controlling traffic at a charity Halloween event. Highly recommend.BrilliantWorks wellwont stay on the torch without being attached with tape, so not very useful.Worth noting the tip is open.
