When I first put these on, I was a bit suspicious: they did not feel particularly comfortable and the material felt too thin. But on the bike, in riding position, they virtually fade away. They are as comfortable as such things come in my opinion. The thin material is a big plus in this respect, providing excellent wind insulation and warmth without being restrictive in any way. Compression is excellent. The pad feels great. It is an improvement on the pad used in older 2xU bib shorts that I have. At about 32 degrees I was rather cold, though OK. On the other hand, I did not overheat in the mid to upper 40s. Even for the $159 I paid, these are pricey. While I don't think they are ideal for sub freezing cycling, for riding in the 30s and 40s they are the best bibs I have ever tried. I am 5'11", 150 lbs and Medium fits well.
