This is the best flashlight I could find, but engineers should be forced to actually use the stuff they design! SO frustrating that obvious things are not considered.PROS:1) Will not roll off the table when you put it down. Not many flashlight designers have even considered this to be a problem.2) Battery life display BEAUTIFUL! Not like the typical three stage good/bad/replace 3 -5 led displays, this has resolution of 1/100 . Nice to know you are actually fully charged, and exactly how much power remains, especially if using this for a power pack. Great battery life and great to know how much time is left.3) Ability to use as an emergency power pack great - I have found it to be able to fully charge a phone with room to spare. The included AAA cell holder is also great for emergencies when you have no place to charge up.4) RECHARGABLE! Saves so much $$ on batterys and time testing them. Type C charging connector is great. Old style flimsy USB connectors always fail eventually.5) SIZE AND WEIGHT perfect. It has some heft but is small. Well built, tough rugged, water resistent yet small and light enough to be easily held long periods without fatigue. Small diameter grippable handle. Power switch and zoom slide properly placed so that it can be operated with one hand, not on the endcap.6) The lanyard!! A most often overlooked feature for flashlights. This is great when you need to use your flashlight holding hand for something, for when you need to hang it somewhere, for keeping hold of it in precarious situations where it could be easily dropped, broken or lost, like on a high ladder or on a boat in rough seas.CONS (obvious fixable stuff that the designers should have thought about and would have if they actually USED THEIR PRODUCT!!! SO ANNOYING).1) there are three brightness levels, which is great but they are ALL TOO BRIGHT. The dimmest setting will burn your retinas if you are shining it on a white wall for example. This also reduces battery life. CAN WE HAVE A MIMIMUM DIMMNESS SETTING< LIKE SAY THE BRIGHTNESS OF A CEL PHONE flashlight? To reduce blindness and increase battery life? Too bright for general purpose illumination.2) TOO MUCH DRAMA TO TURN THE DAMN THING OFF! Can't I just hit a switch to turn this off immediately in a tactical situation? CRITICAL! Despite the otherwise perfectness of this flashlight, a single design oversite completely disqualifies it for tactical use, hunting, surveillance...YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF INSTANTLY! So many situations when it is critical to kill the lights to avoid attracting attention.Instead you have to cycle through all 5 modes that you never use (three brightness levels, strobe and SOS for crying out loud just to turn it off. Instead of reducing attention you attract MORE!OR you can hold it down to turn it off but it takes a full three seconds which are an eternity in a tactical situation!!!! A lot can happen in three seconds, not to mention the distraction. Stupid. This disqualifies it for any tactical use, hunting, surveillance, whatever...Just stupid. SO many situations when you simple need to cut the lights IMMEDIATELY!!!!! This is terrible. I never want to see that strobe or SOS except in rare situations I ask for it. ESPECIALLY IF I WERE EPILEPTIC ! Horrible for people susceptible to epileptic seizures from flashing lights. Too easy to unintentionally enter strobe mode.3) Light dispersion - too sharp of a cutoff from light to dark for my taste, I like a gradual vignette for a little peripheral vision, like the Duracell flashlights. Focusing down to a square with crosshairs for spot zoom is weird but you get used to it. Added bonus of projecting crosshairs on to intruders!! This can be solved by finding some kind of diffusing cap to place over the lens, however.SO I almost love it but it only gets 5 stars due to these obvious design oversights, WHICH I HOPE WILL BE FIXED IN A FUTURE DESIGN HINT HINT. Then it would be PERFECT and 5 stars.
