If you're looking to get yourself a multi cell SBT90.2 beast of a flashlight from a premium brand for a fraction of its original price, this is it!I almost thought this listing was too good to be true, but thankfully I ordered one anyway! This is a new old stock Eagtac that hit the market several years ago. It's pretty much a forgotten model so now they are selling them at an unbelievable price.Eagtac calls the emitter a "Luminous SST-90 NB" which is just what they used to call the first generation SBT90. If you know anything about flashlights, you know how powerful this emitter is!The overall build quality is excellent. This is a seriously heavy hunk of a flashlight. Remove the tail cap to access the battery compartment. This flashlight takes four 18650 batteries which are wired in a 2S2P configuration. It does require button top cells to make proper contact on the positive posts. I recommend the Jesspow brand button top 18650's sold here since they are one of the few brands that are close to advertised capacity. I have confirmed they work well in this light. If you'd rather buy the cells from a reputable name brand, you can still find Samsung 30Q's in button top format if you buy from a reputable supplier.Since it's a 3V emitter powered by a 7.4V nominal source, that means this uses buck driver. This is a good thing since buck/boost drivers are both far more efficient than cheaper FET/direct drivers. This becomes apparent when running the light at full output for several minutes. Despite running the high power SBT90 emitter, it stays relatively cool at full output, barely getting more than lukewarm. The UI is interesting, but it's not my favorite. Instead of pressing or holding the button like most flashlights, you instead unscrew the head partially to reduce brightness. It works fine, and provides the benefit of allowing you to choose your output level before turning the light on, but I don't care for the head feeling loose. It's not a huge deal, I just prefer a more traditional interface. You can also press and hold the button at any time for instant max output.Overall it's an excellent well-built very powerful flashlight at a bargain basement price. Grab one while you still can at this price!
