Most important thing to note about this tent is that without the corners staked into the ground, you will not be able to set it up. This is due to the fact that it only has two sets of poles and these poles DO NOT attach to the 4 corners. (I suspect they designed it this way to save on weight.) They only hold the middle up. In order to have the tent stay upright, you MUST stake in the corner and pull the corners taut .Also, as opposed to another reviewer, I did not find the top to be flimsy and without support. The only job of the top is to hold the rain fly and it is plenty strong for that.The tent itself deserves 5 stars. The only reason I'm giving it 4 is because of the weight discrepancy. When planning a long backpacking trip where every oz. counts, especially Mt Whitney where you must carry all solids down (urine is the only thing you can leave on the mountain).One more thing, it came with instructions for a different tent. No biggie since it was easy to setup, however, it does have an extra piece of aluminum pole that I don't know what it is for (see picture). I suspect it is to "repair" a bent or broken pole in a pinch.
