SIX-WEEK UPDATE: After three tries, we finally got the size that fits. I included the video above to illustrate how to don the Juxtafit, but that set was way, way too big. (Size XL long wide calf. The medium long wide calf was also too long.) We ended up cutting down both long sets, with suboptimal results. The photos are of the size we ultimately settled with, a medium short wide calf. I included the photos to show how a proper fit looks. As you may see, they're a touch too short, but they don't chafe around my ankles, which is a big plus/must.I'm tempted to dock a star because they only offer short and long size selections, no between length size, which is what I really need. However, the Juxtafit has made such a huge difference in my leg health, I just can't knock them. If you're at your wits' end trying to deal with edema, this product will save your sanity ... And maybe your legs.ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW:I've been struggling for months, trying to find the balance between control of my lower-extremity edema and protection of their soft tissue. Not using compression stockings blows me up like a balloon and is very painful. Using compression stockings bruises me legs, and even creates blood blisters (more pain) that burst and create open wounds. We won't even go into the rolling issues. In a desperate attempt to find a solution, I ordered the Circaid compression system, and it's an answer to prayer. The primary piece is a soft, stretchy, synthetic foam-like material, but the sleeve included is cotton and very soft, like diabetic stockings. Using that beneath the primary piece really protects the skin. The whole system allows for very specific compression pressures, even lower or higher mmHg in different zones. A short standard compression sock/bootie is included to go under the foot/ankle wrap, which I like because that's where I need the most help.Of note, the foot wrap is one flat piece, designed in a strappy configuration, and is not the type of foot/ankle Farrow wrap that has the built-in heel shape. That was disappointing, as I probably would have purchased the leg and ankle/foot wraps separately had I known, but this seems to do the trick and is fairly easy to apply. ... Once you get the hang of it.I've been using this wrap system for a few days and absolutely love it already. My home health nurse gushes over it. The folks at the wound care clinic think this is exactly what I need and are going to recommend it to their other problematic patients (which is all of them). And trouble with the top rolling down and creating a tournequet? Forgetaboutit! HeOne caution: be sure to take your measurements when your legs are already compressed. I didn't and ordered a XL-long/wide calf. During the wait for shipment, compression of my legs dropped me to a medium-long/wide calf. Unfortunately, my wound drained and spoiled the liner, so I can't return the left leg, but we are returning the right leg to get the proper fit/size. We'll try trimming the one we can't return. If it works, great! If not, we'd have to replace it with the right size anyway, so, no worries. If you can't be compressed when you measure for your Circaid and your edema is severe, be prepared to buy replacements at some point because there's a point where you just can't make a too-large wrap work. But, hey. That means it's working, right?I'd recommend this to anyone who struggles with stasis or lymphedema. In fact, I'm sending video to my several siblings, all of whom have this problem; none of whom have found a good solution. Enter Circaid: mischief managed.
