Description

With the patented InSITE Technology feature, now standard on all IDEAL RG-11 compression connectors, field termination of these blind entry connectors is simpler, faster and now provides a higher performance connection for all applications from CCTV to HD Video. The InSITE window is a 360° clear window which allows the installer to verify that the prepped cable has been inserted far enough into the connector to make contact with the fixed pin-before the connector is compressed.

Features

RG-11 or RG-11 Quad Plenum sized connectors are available for use in applications and installations from 5MHz to 3GHz, including CATV and satellite trunk/distribution lines. An internal sealing compression sleeve prevents moisture from entering the backside of the connector and aides in cable retention

Nickel-plated brass construction provides corrosion resistance

Weatherproof for indoor and outdoor use

Recommended compression tool 30-793 OmniSeal PRO XL

Requires a standard 1/4 in. x 1/4 in. cable preparation

This is a solid connector and a must have if you need to terminate RG11 cable. I find compression connections are easier to make than other types and once you start making your own cables that are exactly the right length with high quality terminations its hard to go back to buying pre-made cables of fixed length. My main over the air antenna run is RG11 for best reception and least interference. I used these with a compression tool from the local big box store and had no issues. You need to make sure the compression tool can handle RG11 cable though as the connectors are much longer than RG6Q and the diameter of the cable is large. I also did not have a proper stripping tool for RG11, but since I only had a handful of terminations to make I was able to make do with a really sharp blade in my utility knife. Probably not recommended or 'proper,' but with a steady hand it is easy enough.
