Description

A travel fly rod that stores at 19" with fly tied on! Then fishes at 9' - This rod travels better than any fly rod, simply telescope the sections down and they are protected for travel, and the rod is always rigged and ready for use. This rod is also different in that the line travels inside the rod, not eyelets on the outside. It is a bit of a combination of tenkara and traditional styles to find the best features of each. This rod fits in small backpacks or even under the seat of your car while being rigged up. Kit includes: Rod, Reel, line, bag and small fly box - Order the hand orientation based on the hand you hold the rod with -

Features

Quick-Setup Fly Fishing Equipment - Seize your next big catch with this unique travel fly rod and reel combo! It has a no-knot setup with a pre-rigged telescoping fly rod. So, making the first cast is a breeze, even if you’re new to fly fishing.

Fast Performance - Our travel fishing rod functions like your tenkara rods and traditional fly rods - only better! The FIRST CAST internal-lined graphite fly rod combines the best of those styles and boasts a med-fast action. has a nice flex and boasts a med-fast action, which allows it to travel better than others.

Ergonomically Designed - We engineered this telescopic rod with the fly line running inside it, to remove eyelets that we found break in travel on other telescoping rods. The fishing rod has a CNC aluminum reel (75mm OD) with an adjustable carbon drag. The crank reel flips left/right, so you can retrieve the line with ease.

Portable and Easy to Carry - Our fly rod combo weighs only 9 oz and packs down to 19 inches, making it so convenient to bring and store. It comes with a 2 oz neoprene case that fits inside most backpacks and under car seats.

Bought this as a birthday gift for my husband and he loved it. He is just starting to get into fly fishing and he absolutely loved this rod. The rod is great quality and collapsible which makes it easy to transport and store.I’m really surprised with this rod overall!!It’s a lot smaller and packable than a typical 4piece 9’ rod. I’m able to stick it inside an average backpack.Casting it was a lot easier than expected; I’ve used a telescoping KastKing and Eagle Claw, and this was better than both of those. I didn’t think it would shoot line or double haul but was able to. Having the line go through the inside of the rod allows for the most durable rod tip compared to anything else out there, great for tossing it in a back. The reel gets it done for a 4wt but you don’t need anything special anyways. The line isn’t anything special either but it gets the job done like a RIO gold line.If REYR wants to get more sales of this I’d recommend dropping the price by $100. It’s too expensive compared to the other name brand combos out there from Orvis, Cabellas, TFO, Redington, etc. Also maybe just sell the rod with examples of other reels and lines to use with. I think this could be amazing with a thinner line and heavier shooting head, like a OPST commando setup. Or something for small creeks like a Scientific Anglers Small Creek line.5stars for a niche product that someone with $$ can get for convenience. 3stars for someone on a budget or someone just starting out with fly fishing. My favorite fly rod ever. So much fun. I take it everywhereThis is a great rod! Gets me on the water very quickly and I can take it anywhere and everywhere. When I want an extra rig set up I will always have the REYR rod ready to rock. It doesn't cast as far as more expensive traditional rods but it doesn't need to. I can take this rod where I cant take others and that's the reason everyone needs one.I am new to fly fishing and purchased this rod to see what it's all about.... and ITS GREAT! Super simple to set up and easy to travel with. It fits in my backpack and I can take it anywhere. I love the process of extending the rod and getting it prepped and ready. Highly recommend!I bought this rod as an intermediate fly fisherman, by no means am I very experienced but I’ve caught my fair share of fish. I have a lot of trouble shooting with this rod though. Other than that and my own skill barrier this is an excellent product. Definetly not your high end fly rod but that’s not its purpose. It is extremely portable and seriously is the best and most portable rod I own fly rods or spin rods.I bought this rod and reel combo last month and took it for a month of fishing in Wyoming. It took a few minutes to get used to setting it up, but after it was straightforward to set up and put away. Having it stowed made hikes through the willows much easier. Then, getting a hook in the water took just a few seconds. I had to switch my reel around to a right-hand retrieve, and Reyr responded to my question in a couple of hours with a video to show me how to do it. At the end of my trip, I broke the number 2 section catching a fish, and again Reyr responded quickly to my question and is sending a replacement for the broken section. The rod casts well, although I had some issues with long casts as the reel didn't come with any line backing, but that was a quick fix. The first few sections of the rod are very flexible and that tends to slow the line down a bit, but it was easy to adjust to. I also noticed that about a foot or two of float line should be pulled through the end section in order to get the line feeding correctly during early casts.Overall, this rod and reel were very well thought out and executed. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to learn to fly fish as well as people who love to fish rivers and streams that are difficult to navigate. I will be taking it everywhere I go.
