This guitar is fantastic! I am so glad that I took a chance and bought it.While I have owned guitars for years, I don't play very well. But I can knock out a few chords, and do a little finger picking, and pluck out songs by note enough to know when a guitar feels and sounds good. And this one is fantastic and absolutely amazing for the money.I spent a lot of time looking at traveling guitars... I needed something smaller and thinner because my full size acoustic just was not comfortable. It always hurt my upper arm where it rubbed on the corner of the body. After trying a number of guitars, and comparing measurements on all different brands, I found that the smallest quality acoustic travel guitars that I could find with a baby taylor, the little martin, and this tanglewood.you can see in the picture above where I have three guitars lined up... On the left is a full size electric samick. In the middle is my tanglewood. On the right is my spouse's baby taylor. The Tanglewood looks almost identical to the baby Taylor, just a little darker stain, a different shaped headstock and bridge. But extremely similar. And it sounds almost identical. Our ears, in fact, cannot differentiate between the $180 tanglewood, in the $390 baby taylor.Whether you are a beginner or advanced, this guitar will suit you just as well as a baby Taylor or a little martin.it is slightly less than 3 in thick at the top, and only a drop more than 3 in thick at the bottom. It's about 12 and a half inches wide at the widest point across the bridge. And the body is a little over 15 in tall.I did decorate it a little bit, because I decorate everything. I put a tree of life hummingbird fretboard sticker on it. You can see it in the photo. the sticker was for a full size guitar, and it just took a little bit of work to cut it down and move it around and fit it to this 3/4 travel guitar.I could not be more happy with my purchase! I love my tanglewood!UPDATE: I've had this about 6 months now and I love it so much that I play for at least an hour every day. I can't WAIT to finish work and get to my guitar each day. It's beautiful. It's fun and comfortable. I just put some nice steel and silk strings on it and now it plays even easier - this Tanglewood has become one of my prized possessions, that and my pineapple ukulele. I love it so much that my playing has improved dramatically and my fingers are full of callouses - and that's good. ;)Bought this for my husband in search of a travel guitar that didn’t cost as much as a $500 Martin but still had quality of sound. After coming upon this one I decided to give it a try. He loves it! I love it! I learned how to play guitar on my dads travel Martin and this one is absolutely comparable in sound!! It’s beautiful, sounds lovely and mellow, and I’m so thankful that the it came with nice elixir strings. The only reason I docked it a star is because it becomes un tuned very easily. With just a slight bump or after putting it down for a bit it needs re tuned. So other than that I’m very pleased. We've had this guitar for 2 weeks. My 16 year old daughter is a beginner and wanted a smallish guitar so she could take it w/ her to college. It plays well and has a nice sound, especially for its size. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a little bigger, but it's fine. She really enjoys learning on it. I have large hands, and can still play it reasonably well. All in all we are happy w/ the purchase.I was surprised at how nice this little guitar was for the price. I bought it to keep in my car (I know that's not good for the wood due to temperature changes) because I drive a lot and always want to practice.-Not a single scratch or chip was found. -Guitar was packed really well.-Strings were loosened for shipping.-Tuners are much higher quality than expected.-Good action right out of box.-Decent carrying case with large pocket.I would reccomend this guitar to anyone that wants a cheaper travel guitar or if you have a young child interested in learning this would be a very good beginner guitar. Couldn't find a single thing wrong with this guitar.Love the size.I love this guitar sooo much. Sounds great and a little smaller than a regular size guitar. Perfect for taking on hikes or anywhere you are looking to get away toPerfect size for travel practice....I really didn’t like the item and sent it back. I’m not a beginner nor am I a professional guitar player. I’m an adult that wants to hold a guitar for an adult . This is a child’s guitar and is a perfect size for someone under 12 yrs. Don’t buy it if your thinking of getting an adult size guitar.Well boxed and delivered before date . I love this little guitar it has such a sweet sound For finger style . I use mine everyday on the sofa as she is so comfortable. I did lower the Tusk nut a shade but other than they I’ve enjoyed her straight out of the box . I purchased as a travel guitar for my camper van but keep her close by me at all times . The soft case is well made and keeps her safe for my travel requirements. I would recommend this guitar to anyone as she is such a great guitar al will be part of my collection for many years to come hopfully.Never bought a guitar without trying it before, and thankfully I wasn’t disappointed!! Lovely little guitar suits my little lady hands and sounds great. Gives a nice sound for strumming chords, as well as nice choppy blues sound too.Turned up really quickly and nice case included. Thanks!!I wasn't going to buy another guitar until I stumbled upon a guitar shop selling travel Tanglewood guitars. They played quite well for a small acoustic. I did a little research and decided to buy a winterleaf. I am very happy with it, i'd say i'm a competant guitarist and for me although it sounds less meaty ( because of it's size) more middle range sounding, I thought it was great. Lovely colouring, keeps in tune and came with a carry case. Would highly recommend if you fancy a throw in the back of the car guitar to take on your travels. Took it to my mates who I jam with weekly it complimented his acoustic very well. The item is a Tanglewood TW2 T acoustic guitar from Hayes Music. It arrived 12 days early. Hayes were extremely helpful when I called them with an enquiry. So thank you for your attention, Martin. The guitar was well packaged and came with a carry case and an Allen key for the truss rod (the neck is perfectly straight). I bought this as a second to keep handy for those moments when I suddenly get ideas. It is perfect for that. It is light and has a beautiful satin finish. As it is a smaller than standard instrument it would be perfect for people with small hands although I haven’t encountered any problems with lack of space for my fingers. It has a good tone and is very well built. My Fender acoustic has some competition at recording time. A good guitar at a very good price.Nice little guitar, worth getting a cheapo foam block to file the fret ends though as they're a bit uncomfortable.Holds its tuning well, easy to play, the higher frets are a bit small though, so some chords can be difficult to fit in them.Overall I recommend this guitar if you fancy something smaller and easier to manage compared to a full sized Dreadnaught.
