Light is bright and has a good amount of spill that is helpful when looking around a dark room. The spot has limited range and is really pretty good within 50 yds or so. The thin handle actually makes it very easy to keep a good grip on the flashlight, especially for smaller hands. The toggle switch works well for our purposes and in my opinion easier to manipulate with gloves than a recessed push button. It probably goes without saying, but the luminescent shroud gets brighter after having been exposed to light. After the flashlight has been on a few minutes and you turn off the light, the shroud glows more than I expected. Great for finding it when out in the dark, but can be distracting when trying to fall asleep. But it will stop glowing after a while.It is a pretty solid piece of equipment, while still being somewhat light to carry. Perfect for our purpose of having an all-weather light for my younger child both for emergencies and camping. Given the build quality and warranty, I feel it is a good buy for the price.
