Maybe i haven't found the best configuration with the provided pads yet, or my knee is oddly shaped, but there are parts of the brace that press against the side of my knee that remind me that i'm wearing a brace during my exercise. Haven't re-injured myself during the time actually using it, so It's doing its job.Protects the knee while playing baseball. Easily fit under baseball pants can't even tell I am wearing it.Fits great just take the extra time to experiment with the additional pads that come with the brace! After twenty minutes mine fits well with no pressure on any bony prominences. The initial fitment, the hinge was pressing on my fibular head which is the bone that is on the lateral side of your knee. With some experimenting I have no more pain or pressure on that spot that would have caused a sore. This brace is great since it has four straps allowing reduced stress on the knee. I am reviewing this on day one with the brace but so for it looks promising. I have an old ACL tear on left knee and meniscus tear on right knee from 4 & 7 years ago respectively. Recently they flared up and the swelling and pain won’t go away. I can already feel the support this brace will offer me and will update on my condition after using this brace for an extended period of time. I am currently doing physical therapy exercises on my own at home and needed a brace to promote unloading of the knees to give them time to heal. I should update the review in hopefully no more than 2 months when, fingers crossed, I am healed and can return to work. Initial impressions point to this being very beneficial in my recovery!I'm a small, middle-aged guy who used to be quite athletic. I just had my first knee injury ever while downhill skiing. I turns out the injury is not serious enough to require surgery or intensive treatment, but is significant enough that I could not bear weight on the leg without it feeling unstable and "popping" in ways that would partially hyperextend it or cause lateral movement that hurt. I needed a knee brace of some sort to help, and this was the only one I could find that was hinged (for lateral support) and available in a size small enough for me. By sizing as instructed (circumference of the leg two inches below the middle of the patella), I had to order an extra-small. I wasn't actually looking to get what seems to be the most heavy-duty of the product line, but like I said--no others were available in my size from this manufacturer or most others.Well, I've had it for two days now and I can say that it is solid, comfortable, and is definitely allowing me to walk and do things that I could not without it. It prevents most lateral instability, and the hinge won't allow my knee to hyperextend. For whatever reason, the price (at least on this size) was comparable to other mid-range products from other manufacturers, so I can't say that I over-paid. It's easy to take on and off, and it seems sturdy and well-made enough to last quite a while. I'll admit that it might be a bit bulky for serious exercise like running or biking, but I don't plan on doing those things for at least a little while anyway. I expect to use the brace in the near future mainly to keep me on my feet and moving the joint, which doctors tell me will be important to healing. It ought to protect me from further re-injury, which is what I consider to be important.Update: Long after this stopped fitting, it learned why. ? my injured leg gained an inch diameter in general inflammation. A heads up to consider re-measuring your leg if what was once blissful later leaves you scratching your head. Maybe it also would have helped docs recognize there was a legit problem far sooner, since they never manipulated it in to replicate the pain in office.** take note of all specific motions that cause the pain in case the main issues don't suffice. It might be laughable to others that I never imagined a whole knee swelling (at least without being turning red or something very obvious). I loved how compact it was, quick to put onfor a bad knee, highly flexible pants apply far less pressure on your joint than jeans.I wore the other more universal (resizable) one so much its on it's last days.--------Its not the coziest but fits pretty well and helps me limit twisting/ tracks pretty well.relatively resistant to sweat for this sort of item.I am not super active, but it is super hot out.after experimenting with wearing over jeans and a few changes to shorts pj pants I did manage two slight and small bruises that i cant see after the second full day and second full night. I'm not so sure that would have happened yet if I hadnt been messing with it.it fit well over the jeans but bunched fabric behind my knee ...enough to put fresh pressure on tendons on rear-sides.It looks like it's made to fit a more muscular leg but does pretty well on my minor musculature. I'm surprised I'm a large. so do measure carefully. I'm on the low middle and the hinge pads are firmly against the sides of my knee. This brand and another have the same parent company.I got one other universal type as a backup but I find it rather hard to set up by oneself to place the hinges, etc. So I haven't worn the other past 2 mins.before I had mild mixed results from a compression sleeve with side stays with kneecap hole. kneecap thing did not help a bit, rather seemed to cause irritation, to push it around or leg moved it and it was trying to stay in place by my knee cap. Unless necessary for your problem, I definitely like the open knee.Intended user said product was reliable. And easy to useProducto: Es muy rígido. Conclusión: devolví el producto y no pienso volver a adquirirlo.I bought it for injury prevention for skiing and skating. It definitely reduces the chance of over extension or flexion or lateral injury to the collateral ligaments. It also off loads the stress on the quads and likely reduce the chance of developing tendonitis or arthritis. Having said these good things about this brace, it is not very comfortabe to wear but I did get use to it. I do not think you can wear it for daily activity or contact sports. For skiing, because your focus is on the slope all the time, you really do not feel it. However, once you finish the activities, I suggest you take it off as soon as possible because of the reason I menetioned above. The support to the knee was so good that my knee instantly felt great again, compared to the hinged knee brace i was using, which did not really give the support i needed for my knee. After using the SD Knee brace, i felt my knee was back to post op time and i could run again without fearing that my knee will give way suddenly and make have a fall. The knee brace is solid and good quality. I'm using this for my badminton games since my knee started to hurt before this.It has a slight rigidness and it gives me more confidence during my play.May need to get used to your friends saying it looks like a bionic leg.Excellent knee brace. I have a $1,500 custom made brace rhat doesn't fit as well as this. I feel safe and my knee feels secure. Comfortable to wear all day even without the sleeve and not bulky. Very happy I bought this.
